Robust, light and warm. I bought this Jacket for the harsh winter climate of Afghanistan. The equipment I use needs to be reliable, lightweight and because space in my Bergan for 'luxuries' is at a premium it needs to be able to be packed down to save valuable space. The temperature within helmand province can drop to -5 degrees Celsius during the night with altitudes of up to 2000m asl. I use this jacket in conjunction with a base layer and smock over the top. I never found myself cold when static, even when I had been sweating after putting the furnace jacket on I still remained warm. The fit is as you would imagine if you have an athletic figure, quality really is second to none, zips are extremely good quality and even with alot of abuse the jacket shows little signs of wear. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who works in cold or extreme environments. Cracking, versatile kit. 26 October 2011

Super lightweight jacket Very nice, took this jacket out in some of this winters most grim conditions, i can't believe how light it feels to wear and it packs down really small, top marks for a quality jacket. 23 March 2011
total comfort down jacket Thisi is the best piece of technical clothing I've bought in ages. It's snug, warm, so light you don't know you're wearing it and packs down small enough to throw in any pack. The extra long back is especially well done. I've jsut spent two weeks touring and skiing in the Alps wearing the Furnace under a light shell and was neither too hot or chilled once. Well done the people at Berghaus 31 January 2011
