    GREAT WEE GAITERS I bought these for use with my Berghaus Pro Rush Primal goretex walking shoes to give some added protection from both water and dirt. However I've found they work just as well on my trail running shoes. To cut a long story short these are absolutely great. BUY THEM!! You won't regret it. Despite being very light, after about 10 months use I have found them to be very resilient indeed. The material used for the body/shell of the gaiter is extremely hardwearing and is only showing very minor signs of wear and tear such as light scuffs. Considering the terrain they've been through that is commendable indeed. The material has proved to be pretty waterproof too. The design is excellent also. They have a strong adjustable nylon type underfoot strap similar to what you would find on full size gaiters. Many short gaiters are badly let down by only having shock-cord or elastic straps which are prone to failure (breaking/snapping) but these are made to last. They are also extremely easy to fit and remove by the use of the zip and velcro front fastening. I have had no problem at all with the gaiter 'riding up' (another common problem with many other short gaiters) as they are very well held in place due to the combination of the lace hook at the front and the elasticated heel section. I have hardly used my walking boots even in the worst of weather since I got these as the protection they afford is so good. As well as helping to keep water out they also keep dirt and gravel from entering your shoe - and prevent the discomfort that brings with it. Provided you don't get immersed above the height of the gaiter they also keep the bottom of your trouser legs nice and dry too which makes for a better day out. Another plus point is that they are very light and compact so take up hardly any space at all in your rucksack when you're not wearing them. Overall a superb product, I honestly have nothing negative to say about these. Brilliant!! 18 November 2010
