almost there bought these gaiters to replace an old mountain equipment pair and to go with the Kibo boot (which i find to be excellent). The gaiter is breatheable -to an extent and basically works well or as good as any competitors product. the flared bottom works very well with a boot shape such as the kibo. The shape of the gaiter stops it rolling up the boot and creating a gap between boot top and heel. The tougher fabric around the bottom of the gaiter resists wear from crampon straps very well. The bad points are the use of velcro. In snow water can ingress to the velcro, then the water molucles freeze pushing the velcro apart. berghaus have tried to solve this by using a wide band of velcro in the front of the gaiter, but velcro is also used to attach the under foot strap!! in cold windy conditions it was a nightmare once crampons were taken off. Trying to reattach a frozen gaiter strap in 40mph winds at -20 really is difficult and very frustrating. A great product but would be better had the under foot strap been attached a better way and some form of plastic zip/clasp been used to assist the velcro attaching system at front of the gaiter.great product but..almost there. 23 January 2012
Worst Snowline Gaiters Wore these gaiters for a full days walk in the dark peak, breathable that's a laugh. My trousers were wet from sweat and 2 hours after taking the gaiter of they were still wet on the inside so they are being returned to the retailer as they are not fit for purpose. 07 November 2011
Well made & functional gaiters I was gifted these gaiters for my birthday to replace a set of well worn out gaiters. What impressed me about these gaiters was they are simple (without faffy bits...) and are cut really well and so are a neat fit when worn with my winter boots. The fabric appears to be really hard wearing but doesn't weigh a ton either! Excellent gaiters and I'm sure they will last years. 01 January 2011
