Best Fleece Jacket
Good quality Fleece Jacket, great fit, I like the extra zip pocket on the top, this jacket kept me warm on a cold winters night in Dec, overall very pleased with this Fleece, I would recommend this item to anyone, Berghaus really do produce high quality outdoor gear

So good, it's my second!
Having owned many Berghaus items from clothing to rucksacks etc over the past 20+ years; from my heady days at school, when all I thought of Berghaus was mere fashion accessory. I now realise the true quality and thought that goes into their products, so much so they have been utilised on many of my little expeditions...which brings me nicely onto the 'Activity' jacket. I rate these jackets highly enough to purchase a second one, due to wearing my old one since Nov 2006, which incredibly still looks pretty new! I use it daily from keeping the outdoors comfortable (mid pile fleece), inconjuction with my Goretex shell. It is also great for throwing on for the daily school drop-off and of course for doing things like washing the car and walking on the beach etc. I particularly appreciate the fit and the spec it has over other fleeces at such a price ie. Thermal Pro Polartec 200 and of course the under-rated chest pocket, very handy indeed, Well done again Berghaus!

beware!
This is a good mid weight fleece, with a relaxed fit (which I like). I bought the Highland Green one, which is a fairly natural deep green colour. My only gripe involves the aesthetics, which alas are quite important to me. Unfortunately the piping used on the jacket is a grey colour, which of course stands out like a hedgehog's nose, and just looks plain ugly. If you purchase on-line, you won't notice this as the various pics show the jacket zipped up with the piping hidden. I've given the jacket to a friend who couldn't care less what their clothes look like, and I dare say that they'll enjoy wearing it. I'm somewhat disappointed given that Berghaus appear to be the only people who make Polartec fleece jackets in colours other than the standard black, red or depressing deep blue. I also purchased the warmer Polarplus jacket, in the Canteen colour, which is a nice natural colour. It too has a nice relaxed fit. Thankfully, the piping used on the Polarplus jacket is a matching colour (though you might like to check whether this applies to the other colours). However, where I live, the Polarplus is too warm to wear around as a regular jacket, and I purchased it only for occasional use. So, if issues re colour and style are important to you, then beware! But if function is the only thing that matters to you, then these jackets are probably about the best fleeces you can get.
