Athlete Testing

The Vapour Light Collection has been thoroughly tested by our team of elite athletes in a number of different countries during various demanding athlete expeditions.

The Vapour Storm jacket has been through years of exhaustive testing, put through its paces in brutal mountain marathons, desert races, treacherous climbs and jungle treks to ensure it performs, even in the toughest of adventures.

100% humidity, 35 degree C heat and torrential downpours were the perfect testing ground for the Vapour Storm as Leo Houlding and his team headed to Venezuela to climb the 1400m Cerro Autana.

As well as input from Leo and the team the Vapour Storm has also been developed with input from, and tested by, other Berghaus athletes and leading figures in the world of adventure racing.

Our athletes Helene Whitaker and Steve Birkinshaw tested it during the Dragon’s Back Race™, a five day, 200 mile mountain marathon across Wales’ most brutal terrain, which Steve won.

Adventure racers and Berghaus athletes Philippe and Anna Gatta have also provided input and tested the Vapour Storm in various adventure races.

Vapour Storm Jacket

Already the winner of the Innovation Award at OutDoor Trade Show the Vapour Storm Jacket is set to up the game of venting jackets when it hits the shops in 2013.

It is the most breathable waterproof GORE-TEX® jacket ever made thanks to patent pending storm vents that allow airflow to circulate and escape the jacket but prevent water getting in.
